Do this & get viral marketing traff...

I’ve read them and I’m pretty sure you have as well  e-books.
If you can think of a topic you can probably guess that there is an e-book out there covering it.

Benefits of Giving Away E-books

If you’ve ever expected some sort of viral marketing traffic then you have to consider writing an e-book that you can give away as a bonus offer for your visitors in return signing up to your newsletter or blog feed. If you’re running a blog or any sort of site chances are that you expect decent traffic to come your way and if this is case you need to start writing your Free give-away e-book immediately. You could even give other webmasters the rights to give them away and in doing so you may create a viral marketing effect that can be a powerful part of your SEO Internet Marketing campaign.

If you’re asking yourself how this could happen I’ll tell you it’s very possible assuming that you employ the following suggestions in your e-book development stage. You have to make sure that you include live links of your web address on your e-book. You can make this happen by dropping anchored linked keywords within your article that readers can follow to your sites. It’s also recommended that you include e-mail contact information, and in some cases if appropriate you may even include your business telephone number in addition to any other information you’d like to share.

If you expect this to work it’s important that you keep in mind that your e-book cannot be garbage, it has to be something compelling, interesting and worth the readers time. It’s a difficult task because just like in every aspect of writing you have to capture your readers attention and keep them reading until they get to your links - if they find your book or the information you are sharing to be obsolete, full of ad’s and content that’s not worth it, this is the very impression they will have of you and your site. KEY IS: Write something worth reading and include links that will allow them to get to your site that will create new leads.

A free e-book does not need to be 100 pages long, you can create a simple 10 to 15 page e-book that assuming it’s good will generate long lasting viral marketing traffic. If you’ve branded your e-book with your logo or name, it can help to spread your brand across the web and establish you as an authority within your niche.

Imagine the tremendous and positive improvement to your traffic once you’ve created and published your e-book. In addition to providing your book to other webmaster you can also list them on e-book distribution sites that allow their users to download e-books and content of their choice, this will help to catapult that viral marketing effect we’ve talked about in the previous paragraphs.

How to Know your Readers, 6 tips to cons...

You’re probably frustrated and tired of trying everything to make your readers do what you want them to do; it’s simple and difficult at the same time but you can actually make it happen by knowing who they are and applying some simple techniques that the top bloggers/companies have used time and time again. You are no different and you can make this happen for yourself.

Just like you know that everything in life has a purpose or principle you have to admit that this rule also applies to the web. When doing business online you have to understand many of the avenues that surround a successful online business and what I hope you learn from this article is how to you can actually make this happen on your own sites.

Understanding who is reading your work is the main key in converting; which is another way of saying that by knowing who’s reading you can get your desired result, which can range from buying, subscribing and even clicking on the advertisements on your blog.

This is what I do on a regular basis to understand my readers:

1. Analyzing your comments/messages:

I write my blog entries and then I review the feedback that you guys leave behind in the form of comments or e-mails. This is the easiest way because you’re telling me exactly what you want and all I have to do is provide it to you. In most cases you guys ask questions, If I know the answers I’ll reply to your comments. If I don’t reply to the comments themselves I write them down and add it as a new entry to the blog.

2.Reviewing and Analyzing my most popular articles:

I’ll take some time to browse the most popular articles on this blog in addition to other blogs and forums within this market or somewhat related to it. I then review what the most popular articles and why you guys liked it, What comments you are leaving there and if I find something worth writing about here from another blog and it’s appropriate I’ll try to address those things on this blog in the hopes you guys respond positively here as well.

3.Trend and Buzz Research

I Look at the trends on Google, Twitter, Digg and other social media sites and follow the keywords that surround my market. When I see other bloggers talking about I study the response and I write about it as well. It happens all the time in fashion with much success. Tommy Hilfiger launches a shirt that turns out to be a best seller and before you know it; there is a new delivery on the floor by another designer company that mirrors the successful product Tommy launched…and the target customer responds well. It’s all about replicating the success of others as long as you can add your own twist, & views on it. There is much to learn from this.

4.Feed Stats

I’ve set up “Aweber” to broadcast my articles to folks that have subscribed to my feed - Every time I add an entry to any of my blogs and “Aweber” shoots out the e-mail with the articles I take a look at how many folks clicked, opened or complained. When I look at the titles, or topics of that particular broadcast it helps me to figure out what folks want and what they don’t want. It’s all pattern of behavior so try not to repeat the topics that you got lots of complaints about and those that folks did not really care to click on.

5.Hit Counters Statistics

I have a few “Hit Counter” statistic scripts installed on all of my blogs. Normally I take a look at the reports and see how many folks are unique visitors versus how many folks are returning visitors. How they arrived? this is important because if you notice that folks are getting there via search engines you can take a look at the titles of those post that attracted them to follow the link to your site and it helps you to get an idea of what topics your readers are attracted to.

Taking a look at your visitor path helps me to determine what other topics you are interested in, or where your going within the blog. When installing these scripts on your own blogs it’s important that you always pay close attention to the entry pages, the exit pages, and the overall path that your own visitors will follow.

Hit counters also help you to get a better idea of demographics-  they tell me whether my main audience is male, female, among other important data that helps me to determine who my users are. (Google Analytics does a great job at this and I personally also use StatCounter - it’s been great to me)

6.Feed Subscription Rates

I take a look at my subscribers sign up rate, if the numbers are going up then it’s obvious I’m doing a pretty good job. When I realize that my subscribers rate is going down I take a look at all of the above and figure out how I can improve.

Learning about your own readers is not an overnight process and you will have to get to know them over time because most of  theses primary methods are based on reactions to your entries. Results will always vary and its not always going to be clear cut - but if you follow the suggestions I’m giving you, then you will realize that knowing your readers will give you an advantage in the blogging business.

Sub-Niche Blogging...

Outside of this internet marketing blog I run a few others but out of all of the blogs there is one blog on African Traditional Religions that has reached a great level. This happened after a couple of years of publishing articles and it has earned great ranking for hundreds of keywords within that market. Since reaching this level the blog I figured there was always room to improve and I want to dominate that particular market - It wont be easy, it would be time consuming but nevertheless its a plan and I’m on the road to accomplish the goal.

The reason why it will work: African Traditional Religions have always been wrongly tied to the occult, although they are nothing of it, however, folks have always tied everything that is esoteric to these cultures so instead of writing hundreds of articles disputing that misconception I am going to use this erroneous opinion to my advantage.

There are statistics that say that about 70% of people read their horoscopes everyday and since astrology is indirectly tied to these African traditional cultures I thought to start out a blog about astrology and horoscopes - my Blog’s audience will more than likely be interested in reading them and the search engines will probably approve of the additional sub-niche content and bring a flow of those 70% of people to my blog.

I feel that when your starting a blog regardless of the market you should always be open to expanding your niche to sub-niche’s to reach a larger audience so therefore your mind should always be on the look out for what these sub markets are since this is a sure way to increase traffic/audience.

What I did and why I did it?

I decided to setup a sub-domain for the sub-niche(Astrology) but in order to create an automatic relationship to the sub-domain or sub market I had to dedicate a page on my “African Traditional Religion” blog specifically to Astrology allowing my current readers to find basic information related to the characteristics attributes of each sign and sending the flow of current readers to the new sub-site.

In addition I figured that this new sub-domain/sub-niche site will directly attract new astrology specific readers and allowing this new audience to cross over to the African traditional content blog via “links” therefore increasing traffic/newsletter subscriptions/comments and AdSense revenue on my original blog as well.

The first step was to determine the sub niche [x] Check.

The second step required setting up a new sub domain and sub domain wordpress blog [x] Check.

The third step was to add some astrology content to the current blog…
creating a more solid relationship to the new blog [x] Check.

The fourth step was to create a two way link for the blogs [x] Check.

The fifth step was to start adding the horoscope content to the new blog on a daily basis [x] Check.

How quickly did I see the results?

It probably took about one week or two before I started to see a surge of natural astrology related searh engine traffic to the new blog. The new traffic arrived but it was after spending two weeks posting daily horoscopes and properly optimizing the new blog for the search engines by the use of tags, social bookmarking techniques and linking the new site to a few popular social networks like Myspace, facebook, Univision etc.

I highly recommend the use of social bookmarking on all of your blogs, Digg has brought great traffic to this new blog.

Benefits of Doing this?

  • I started a new newsletter subscription list and it’s been growing on a daily basis.
  • My Adsense Revenue has increased.
  • My Search Engine Rankings have Increased.
  • I’ve learned alot more.
  • It has established me as an authority within that niche.

Darren Rowse of Problogger.net has a very interesting article on sub-niche bloggin - he published it a couple of yearsago but there is still some great relevance to what I’m trying to say on the article above..

Here is a great quote from the ProBlogger:

Once you’ve established a name for yourself in a sub-niche it then becomes a little easier to expand into other neighboring areas of the niche (just as Tom is now leveraging his profile and is launching bakeries in other rural centers around my state).

Does Twitter have a Marketing Purpose?...

Twitter and Online Marketing? Someone in a popular forum recently asked if there was a true marketing purpose behind twitter. I wanted to share with you my own thoughts on the Twitter network.

In a recent post I explained the meaning behind Viral Marketing and if you read closely the following will make a lot of sense to you: When you think of Twitter, think of this network as a viral tool.

If you have the right product, service or campaign, Twitter will help increase your viral exponent. It’s pretty obvious that this will not guarantee that you will actually go viral but Twitter can be a contributing factor therefore it has alot to do with online marketing.

Do you have a twitter account? If I were you I would register one today.

How do you feel Twitter relates to your online marketing projects?
Have you benefited from using this network?

Adsense Approval...

Adsense Approval, What’s Adsense? Adsense is one of the most popular contextual advertising programs out on the web. It’s operated by Google and if you don’t know what Google is by now then I really suggest you do your research because you have a lot of work ahead of you.  This program provide us publishers with a snippet of code that allows us to generate revenue from our sites. It’s very simple; you place the code on your sites and this helps Google to analyze the content on your web pages so that they may serve ad’s related to the content on that particular page. This will increase the chances that your readers will click on the ad’s served and voila you will share a piece of the earnings pie with Google.

What do you suggest so that I get approved by Google Adsense?

There is an interesting dialogue on the best and quickest way to get accepted into the program and It’s not as simple as just signing up and adding codes. Your application needs to be approved by Google before you can start generating any sort of revenue and because of this I wanted to share with you the two known methods that will help you to be approved as a publisher.

I’ll be upfront with you in case you do some research of your own but there is always an argument on the best method of approval but I recommend the below.

Approval Method 1

  • Buy a domain name from a good quality domain provider like Godaddy.com or 1and1.com.
  • Purchase a hosting account and put up your index page along with any other pages you will have on your website and make sure all of those pages have content on them. If you really care about getting accepted into the program then I recommend that you don’t write gibberish and that you actually spend some time to add something of value so that you have a good chance.
  • If you have nothing to write about then I recommend using a Private Label Content provider.
  • Don’t get excited yet, the works is not over and Its not time to apply yet. Now you need to start driving traffic to your sites and before you get yourself in trouble do not use an auto surfer program otherwise you will not get approved (I’ts against google’s Terms). I suggest the following article where you will find Bum Marketing Tips to drive traffic.
  • Add a site map to help both your visitors and the Google spider bots to navigate your site easily. (This is must to ensure approval.)
  • Drive consistent traffic to your sites for about one months time.
  • Once you’ve done all of the above, visit Google Adsense and  fill out the application.
  • These are the steps to apply now follow them and wait for Google’s good word. (Good Luck!).

This is very important: Your site should have a contact us, a privacy policy and a disclaimer link to it with at least 20 pages of content if you hope to be approved into the program.
