What will you do different in 2009?
How many times have we said it? This year will be better than the last and then we sit our arses down and do the same thing that we always do and expect different results as if we were insane. This mental state calls for a very famous saying that you may have heard of; “if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got”?
Lets give ourselves a real opportunity for success this year, lets make the resolutions and stick to them. Lets create an action plan and follow them through. I’m assuming your with me when I say that ‘09 will be the best year of my life and I will make sure of that.
I wanted to share with you the list of things to do that will make sure I achieve my goals this year, here you go:
Write down your goals
Don’t just write down your goals as a general statement - be as specific as possible, desribe what you want to achieve and how you will achieve it - also make sure to set a completion date to ensure you achieve your goal by then.
Keep the list near you at all times:
It’s important that you always have this list of goals infront of you, take it with you to work, take it with you to lunch and even place it right next to your bed when you go to sleep so that its the first thing you see in the morning. If you wish to buy a house in the next year then I recommend that you download an image of the home you wish to have and add this photo to your list so that you know what your working towards.
Talk about your goals
Its important that you talk to everyone about your goals, regardless of whether they will be supportive or not - speaking about what you want to accomplish will hold you accountable to those people that you shared your goals with and more importantly it will hold you accountable to yourself.
Take a break
It’s important that you take from 20 minutes to 30 minutes a day to meditate about your goals, and to asses how far you’ve come to achieve the end result - analyze your progress and do what you have to do to clear your mind and make sure you achieve it and if you are in a rut make sure figure out how to get out of it during this meditation time.
Immense yourself in your goals
Its important that you live, breathe and eat what your trying to accomplish and eat breathe and live the steps neccessary to complete those goals - if your trying out for blog success then you have to surround yourself with bloggers that have already succeeded - get a mentor, subscribe to important and reliable blogs that spit out great content.
Imagine yourself having achieved the Goals
Its important that you believe you have already achieved your goals, this mental state will help you to achieve those goals because it will help you to believe that you can actually make it happen. Themind is a very powerful thing.
Give thanks and Edify
Give thanks to those who have helped you achieved your goals in someway or another and edify those who have already succeeded before you this will give you a humble attitude and will be admired by those who are following your success.
